I started a health challenge with several other women this week – $8 buy in and a list of things I have to track each day over the next 6 weeks in order to earn points. I took before pics, cringed, and decided to look forward to the end of the 6 weeks to see my progress!
This morning I worked out for 30 minutes at our apartment gym, and left discouraged. I threw my back out by using a bit to heavy of weights. Weights that a year ago would have been NO trouble at all. In 8 months I’ve gained 12 pounds and now weigh the heaviest I’ve been in 3 years. Because I don’t want to make weight the key factor that I base my health off of, I can also tell my body is not in its prime in several other areas.
SO, a change was necessary. I’m excited to share with you my journey. If I can be brave enough, I’ll even post my before pictures…. but we will see ;).
This morning for breakfast I tried The Whole Food Diary’s smoothie bowl recipe. Let me tell you, SO DE-lish!! I’m not a fan of eating banana’s when I’m trying to loose weight since they have a high sugar content and aren’t low glycemic, so next time I will be subbing out the banana and adding in more cauliflower or bloobs (blueberries). Also, for the liquid, I used half kefir and half water. Loved the creaminess of it all.
